FreefoodatMIT is not a manually created list, it is an iCal aggregator that uses Google Calendar to search many different iCal feeds related to MIT. It searches the description of all known MIT events for key words and phrases associated with free food, and updates the list every 24 hours.

How to get your event posted to FreefoodatMIT

If you run an official or unofficial MIT event and would like to get it posted on FreefoodatMIT.com, the easiest way to do it is to post your event to events.mit.edu and use the phrase free food somewhere in your event's description. Within 24 hours your event will be listed here.

Why are there so few future events?

Often times the online calendars are updated the day before or the day of the event. As that day gets closer there will be more freefood events.
